These multimedia resource packs explore different aspects of the curriculum from a real world perspective. They provide the equivalent of a factory tour from the comfort of a classroom.

Each Workpack includes worksheets and a series of short film clips that can be shown to the whole class via a DVD player or through an interactive whiteboard environment, and also viewed by individual pupils across the network as required.

The film is shot on location and provides a unique insight into the issues faced by designers and technologists in real companies.

The people behind the businesses describe how they work, the manufacturing processes and how they design products to meet customer requirements.

A set of worksheets - written by John Morrison, a former head of design & technology and an examiner - expand on the topics and issues. These are made available both as printed sheets for duplicating and also in an electronic version that can be completed online or adapted to fit within existing schemes of work.
